Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue cultivar (variety) selected for it's improved traits and ease of establishment from seeds in lawns. It is one of the older varieties with a light green, coarse texture.
This coarser blade grass is the most common and persistent fescue in the area. Not as fine as a premium turfgrass and has endophyte issues for livestock but despite these issues there are more acres of this than any grass around due to how well it grows here. KY 31
