This perennial, aggressive, large-leaf, high-yielding white clover persists well in the south. The seed rate is 3-12 pounds per acre. Plant at a lower rate when seeding in combination with other legumes or grasses. Very high in protein, vitamins, and minerals, it is developed for exceptional yields of palatable, high-quality forage. Its vigorous spring and summer growth makes it a good choice for food plots. Alice has higher stolon density than most other ladino types, allowing better persistence under intensive, continuous grazing. White clover will not lignify in hot weather, unlike alfalfa, red clover, and most other forages. Ladinos can be broadcast, frost-seeded, or drilled into soil. White clover thrives in soils with a pH of 5.5 or higher. Because of its shallow root system, it is not adapted to shallow, droughty soils. A typical seed rate is 5-10 pounds at a planting depth of 1/8-1/4.
